If you read my last story, you would know that I think that Scream is an almost perfect movie. I am super excited for a new Scream coming out next year. I cannot believe that Scream 4 was ten years ago already.

I am typically not a trailer person. Ask any of my friends. I’d rather go into a movie blind and not be led in the direction that the trailer tries to take you. But I made an exception about Scream (5) because I want to see if I can make any predictions.

I have rewatched the trailer a dozen times by now. I have watched the directors and actors being interviewed about the upcoming release. I have watched and read other people’s take on the trailer and what they think is happening or will happen. I think I am as informed as I can be.

Here are some of my theories, but take them with a grain of salt because the directors were the first to say that they are trying to keep as much secret as possible. They want to make it feel like you are watching the movie for the first time all over again. Like you have never seen a Ghostface. The whole trailer can be a misdirection, and nothing in it can be in the movie. They have the liberty to do that. Or maybe it is all in the film as it seems, and they are just trying to trick us.

Also, please watch the trailer before you read this, or else it will not make much sense.

Could that character be the new final survivor and live on in infamy just like our beloved Wes Craven? That would be an interesting idea, but I doubt that it would be a male if there were a new final person. Something is so vital about how Scream amplified the term final girl. I think it would be a downer if a male survived.

One major thing I picked up from the trailer is how everyone keeps saying “attacks” instead of murders. This is…
